What Mattered Today

It was a weak session for the Australian share market as energy stocks collapsed following the news that Abu Dhabi National Oil Co had walked away from its $36bn bid for Santos, while a weaker than expected jobs report out at 11.30am this morning saw a rotation out of equities into safer havens, such as bonds, pushing yields lower. All ASX sectors finished in the red, bar a small gain from tech.

Hi guys, Thank you for your daily insights which I find very informative. Catapult Sports has done really well over the last 5 months. I have noticed considerable insider selling in the last 3 months. Do you view this something that could be a concern, especially given that they are still unprofitable. Felix Gold Ltd (FXG)

Hi MM Team, Can you give your thoughts on the Antimony opportunities for FXG. They claim to have some of the highest-grade Antimony potential in the US and globally "In the history of S&P Global's database for grade x width comparisons for drill intercepts, Felix Gold holds 9 of the top 10 in the U.S. and 5 of the top 7 globally" (ASX announcement 08/09/2025). Given China's ban on Antimony exports to the US, do you see more upside for this stock. Regards Paul

Champion Iron (CIA) enjoys the new Iron Ore tailwind

CIA’s key asset is the Bloom Lake mining complex located in northern Quebec Canada. They acquired it in 2016 and restarted production in early 2018, currently producing around 15Mtpa of high-grade iron (+66% Fe) meaning they attract a higher price than the benchmark 62% Fe.
