Shawn’s Trade Idea: Treasury Wine Estates Ltd (ASX: TWE) at $4.50

Recent substantial shareholder disclosure shows Billionaire Olivier Goudet and Luxembourg’s Platin raised his stake in Treasury Wine Estates with their voting power rising to 9.04%. Together they own 73 million shares after a series of on-market purchases. We believe the market will start to sniff some M&A on the horizon rerating the battered wine maker.

We again start the week with no open positions after the long Fortescue Limited (ASX: FMG) position at $21.02, was stopped at $21.40, the choppy ASX is seeing few positions held for as long as we would like. This week we have cancelled our unfilled resting bid in the ATEC ETF and focused on an individual stock.

Why is WAM Capital (ASX: WAM) so cheap?

WAM has just gone ex-dividend a few days ago. It pays a partially franked dividend of $0.155 a year. That is better than 9%! If I include the franking credits, it is better than 15%! It has a long track record of paying steady dividends, only the franking credits vary. Generally, high dividends means high risk. What are the risks with this stock? Regards, John

Credit Corp Ltd (ASX: CCP)

Thanks to the whole team there for a great service. I have run the ruler over CCP, and it seems to tick a lot of boxes...revenue growth, Profit growth, margins, yield, PE ratio. With higher inflation and increased interest rates, I believe their debt collection business will be stronger. Would be interested in your latest thoughts, and any negatives. thanks Bernie
