EMR led the gold sector lower on Monday falling -9.4%, the most in sixteen weeks, as the rally in precious metals cooled following improved sentiment about credit quality in the US and trade frictions between China and the US. I
Thursday saw gold miner EMR pop +6.4%, on triple its 20-day average volume, but there was no fresh news; however, a very low All-In Sustaining Cost (AISC) likely to be below $A1500 when it next reports certainly helps.
EMR has enjoyed its shares more than tripling over the last 15-months, eclipsing the majority of gold producers in the process. The stock only entered the ASX200 last year if some subscribers aren’t familiar with the code. Its Cambodian commercial gold operation makes it one of the world's highest-margin producers.
Gold company EMR replaced InvoCare (IVC) on the 31st of October; it's no great surprise that we have another gold stock entering the ASX200 as the precious metal flirts with fresh all-time highs, although EMR’s +140% surge in 2023 has it head & shoulders above its peers.
Gold miner EMR has enjoyed a year to remember as its share price has more than doubled, taking the stock into the dizzy heights of the ASX200. The performance of its Okvau gold mine has given it a huge leg up in 2023, it is printing plenty of cash from the first commercial gold operation in Cambodia.
