PMV +9.91% /MYR -1.55%: The duo announced that Myer will merge with the Apparel Brands division of Premier Investments  which includes Just Jeans, Jay Jays and Dotti, leaving PMV with Peter Alexander and Smiggle, along with their investment in Breville (BRG).

Myer (MYR) 85.5c

MYR +7.55%: the retailer hit 10 month highs today on a strong 1H and growth returning, while some changes at the top were also announced. First-half sales were up marginally while NPAT dropped to $52m, though this was at the top end of recently provided guidance. Net cashflow improved by $10.7m, however, this was mostly as a result of an inventory reduction.

Myer Holdings (MYR) 64c

MYR +1.59%: the department store company was out with FY23 results today given they run to a July year end. The numbers were broadly in line with expectations as sales jump 12.5% to $3.36b and profit up 18% to $71m, mostly driven by a strong 1H where an improved strategy and strong consumer spending supported earnings.

Myer (MYR) has delivered its best start to a new financial year since 2006 while the company delivered its best 2nd half results since 2013 and the board even announced a 2.5c dividend – this household name has unfortunately probably been the ASX’s largest “dividend trap” of the last decade.

Flagship Growth Portfolio

The MM Flagship Growth Portfolio advanced +2.89% last week outperforming the market, our cash position remains at 2% after recent portfolio moves. The support largely came from a recovery in the growth stocks Xero (XRO) +7.7%, ResMed (RMD) +7.2%, HUB24 (HUB) +5% while Woodside Energy (WDS) -2.7% and CSL Ltd (CSL) -1.4% weighed on returns.
