Archives: Questions And Answers
Dear James / Shawn, Given the current market uncertainty, when MM buys shares would you consider setting stop loss prices in order to avoid significant capital losses, as seen last year in a few of the shares in the Emerging Companies Fund ?
When you first get a ‘hybrid’ it usually has a face value of say $100.00. Over the years, the on market price will rise to say $107.00. Towards the end of its life, does the market value start to reduce back to the face value? implying that you should not retain a Hybrid beyond a certain point., i guess balanced with the future income?
Do the Hybrid issuers offer owners a better buy price for a replacement Hybrid when the replacement is about to come on the market?
Hi James
Coal stocks have had a rocky start to the year. Are MM still bullish, in particular WHC into the latter part of the year, or has the thesis changed?
Many thanks
Alex
Hi James and the Team
A question for the weekend report.
what are your thoughts on DRR it was down 10.65 % today if you could only buy one would you buy this, or DTL ?
I have always found foreign currency very confusing. Using Beta ETF’s can you explain in simple terms when you would choose between NDQ and HNDQ and why particularly as both are expressed in A$’s but the underlying investments are US$’s
Hi James & Team
What’s your view on the Regional Banks.
Frustratingly sold BEN in late Sept 22 ($8.02). Most views were to sell the regionals but BEN has since gone up 26% to $10.20 today. ANZ in that same period up 11%.
MMatters sold BOQ in August 2022 around $7.35 now $7.30 . Why has BEN gone up and BOQ remains unchanged? Is there any risk reward in BOQ??
regards
Debbie
1) You have written recently about coal. However, if I’m not mistaken, the coal price decreased significantly since your last comments – currently USD$262 per tonne if the source I am looking at it is accurate (?).
