what are the top 5 US buys

what are the top 5 US buys

Answer

Hi Martin,

Picking our “Top 5” stocks in a volatile and fluid market is never easy but basis Friday afternoon the below picks from our International Equities Portfolio fit the bill, a very eclectic bunch, some recently purchased and some held for years:

  • Alibaba (BABA US) – has become Chinas new AI darling as it looks to work with Apple to roll-out AI features in China, this could be just the beginning of a big turnaround.
  • HCA Healthcare (HCA US) -A recent addition to the MM portfolio, defensive healthcare that has traded back into value territory ~$US320, a view shared by the company which has just authorised an additional $US10bn to buy back stock.
  • JD.com Inc-ADR (JD US) – one of China’s largest e-commerce platforms and generates most of its revenue from its core retail business. JD is extremely cheap with the ‘China discount’ pushing it to its lowest valuation in history, we believe the risk/reward is compelling, especially as MM believes China is at its nadir.
  • Microsoft (MSFT US) – remains a core holding in our portfolio with the stock benefitting from a diverse revenue stream including Cloud infrastructure, AI services, and enterprise solutions on top of the traditional software solutions.
  • Zillow Group (ZG US) – The US property platform that’s providing a good entry opportunity due to a challenging property market – think REA but in a lot bigger market.

NB We are conscious of the correlation between BABA and JD but they both look great!
