Archives: Questions And Answers

I’d be interested to hear your latest/updated thoughts on NEM please?
In July MM comments were how ‘markets hate misses’ but ‘all bad news seems to be built in’. An update last month indicated there could be some consolidation to be expected before pushing higher.
However NEM is back at it (missing guidance) again given back the last 4 months of great gains.
Is this beast that can’t change its habit of a decade and should be dropped until management can do better?
Are investors over it having given it one last chance, has there been an overreaction based on previous experience, or something else?

Hi guys, question about finding out who is buying what stocks and when. I’ve seen commentators mention this type of information. For instance, last week I saw commentators referring to L1 Capital increasing their exposure to MIN or regularly you’ll hear commentators talking about directors selling. How do they know? Is it only via Notice of change of interests of substantial holder forms lodged, or do commentators and Market Matters for instance have access to data that retail investors don’t. How can we find out as retail investors when people buy or sell down and have you thought of including something like this in the analysis section of the research part of the website? Thanks for all your excellent advice, Josh

Keen to hear your thoughts on APA in the context of reviewing your portfolios for exposure to rate sensitive stocks.
Also hoping to get your thoughts on whether the current pressure on the share price is purely related to rates and the UniSuper selling or whether you think the market is repricing based on concerns with fundamentals (concerns about debt, growth strategy and sustainability of the dividend)
Thanks
Chris

(MIN) Mineral Resources
Hi James,
I have been considering (MIN) at these low levels with the outlook for demand from China reasonably positive if the next stimulus is made.
However, I must be missing something because out of 17 Brokers following the stock 52% recommend it as a Buy with 24% Neutral and 18% as a Sell.
The Consensus Broker forecasts on Fundamentals are terrible for the next two to three years:
PE 43x , EPSG -49% in 2024 falling to -244% in 2025, Debt/Equity 124%, Interest Cover only 3.9x, Free Cash negative-$2.443 M, Yield 0-1%.

Hi James and Team
CBA has hit another all time high. At what price will you consider trimming or selling your holding? XRO has also hit new highs- they report on the 15th Nov – are you considering trimming prior to their reporting? What are the expectations – has this been priced in already?
regards
Debbie

HI JAMES,
ON YOUR COMMENTS ON TRUMP’S VICTORY YOU WERE SUGGESTING GOOD PROSPECTS FOR JHX. JHX IMPORTS ITS FIBRO CEMENT FROM AUTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND, HOW WOULD IT AFFECT ITS PROFITS, IF THERE IS A 10% TARIFF ON IMPORTS AS TRUMP HAS THREATENED TO DO.
I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR DAILY REPORTS , AND IT DOES PLAY A BIG ROLE IN MY INVESTING AND TRADING. THANK YOU.
