If the Goldilocks scenario occurs in 2024 – interest rates drop but the economy avoids recession, I’m wondering, in rough percentage terms, how much appreciation is left in real estate stock prices? Stocks I’m thinking of are the stocks in the MM portfolios, CNI, DXS, LLC, NSR.
Hi James and M&M, do you see CBA stock price going higher or lower in 2024, and is there a target price you intend on selling CBA in the Active income portfolio? Thank you
Hi Market Matters Team
Can I have your latest view on Treasury Wine.
Post the acquisition of DAOU Vineyards and Equity Raising
“Entitlements not taken up by institutional shareholders were sold and cleared in the Institutional shortfall bookbuild at A$11.50 per New Share, which was A$0.70 per New Share above the Offer Price” – While the Retail Shortfall Bookbuild did not clear at the offer price of $10.80 per New Share. This fall in share price was an opportunity to buy TWE and with the Institutional bookbuild sold at $11.50 – it looked like the shares would trade above the $10.80.

Hi James and Team
Your current view please on the Iron Ore names – especially RIO and FMG – FMG has reached a new high and RIO is closing in on it’s all time high. How much higher do you feel they can go? – Will we be able to hold for their Feb/March dividend and hold on to the gains or do we sell or lighten leading up to reporting and dividend payout.?? How bullish are you?
regards
Debbie
Thoughts on DGL
Hi James,
This is an urgent question
The current market price for MFGO is well above the offer price indicated by MFG to buy back options. Does that mean I should sell ASAP (that will realise a substantial loss) whereas I can hold for a long time as an option. Seems very unusual situation. Is there a difference between the options being bought back and the ones listed on the market?
The government has released an important position paper regarding gas strategies. https://consult.industry.gov.au/future-gas-strategy. Clearly this has had an impact on BPH Energy Ltd resulting in considerable share price growth over five days. How do you see this policy impacting the gas industry and are there other beneficiaries besides BPH?
BPH is centred around the PEP11 petroleum lease which is a hot potato. So where to now?
Hi guys
Merry Christmas.
One quick question,
Should Sigma now be on our radar?
Appreciate your opinion.
