Treasury Wine Estates Ltd (TWE) $11.55

Over recent months, we’ve described TWE as a potential funding (switch) vehicle due to its ongoing rigor mortis. After fighting hard and largely successfully to deal with China’s crippling tariffs in 2020, the company could be about to experience Chapter 2, with Trump initially likely to impose a 10% tariff on imported wine. That said, the impact of tariffs are certainly not clear cut, there are offsets and plenty of room for variability in their execution, with their primary role being a tool in negotiation.

As we know, markets often hate uncertainty more than bad news and it feels like TWE will experience a degree of uncertainty well into 2025

  • We still have TWE on watch even though it feels cheap, ~$11.50.
