Hi James - Since joining in late June I’ve been very impressed with your commentary and have populated my portfolios with a many of your recommendations. I believe the most difficult thing for the mum and dad investor without professional advice is when to sell. So, a question about what you think about a few stocks I've had in my portfolio prior to subscribing. As we saw yesterday, some excellent buying opportunities appear with pullbacks. If your portfolio is full,  you can’t buy if you don’t sell. How do you think these stocks will go in the next 6 months? Hold or sell for better opportunities? MVF, COH, MQG, TWE Cheers, Nick

Answer

Great Nick, glad you’re enjoying the service. Selling can be difficult however it helps to be as emotionless as possible, and ultimately just making decisions is important, sometimes those decisions will be wrong with the benefit of hindsight however making them is the important part, otherwise we can get bogged down in a funk of inactivity.

Macquarie (MQG): Good update last week however on 20x when other global investment banks are on near half that, we view as too expensive.
Cochlear (COH): Great company however we prefer CSL at current levels
Monash IVF (MVF): Neutral around $1 , it’s not expensive and has low single digit earnings growth over the coming years.
Treasury Wines (TWE): We are bullish here for a move ~$14
