Archives: Questions And Answers
Greetings,
A few weeks ago I started accumulating BBOZ because I was feeling “the end is nigh” . In the rear vision mirror it is apparent I jumped a bit early, but feeling a bit better about that decision in recent days. What do you thing about some hedging as a strategy going forward? Cheers Ron.
Hi James, Thank you for your market commentary. It’s good to get a brokers view of what is going on. I am interested to buy shares in APA Group. Looking at the price history they are very volatile, large swings up and down consistently over the years. Yet looking at their results over the years profitability seems to be very stable particularly at the EBIT level. As I would expect given the nature of the business. Can you please tell me what you believe drives the share price. Maybe its leveraged to interest rates but it has had wild swings up and down over the past 5 years when rates have been historically low. – Les
Dear James and team, I notice that you have some big capital losses in your funds. I have read “experts” who recommend selling losing shares quickly, rather than suffering even more losses as time goes by. Could you tell us why you hold onto losing shares ? Would it not be better to set a stop loss, sell and move on to up trending alternative shares ? Can I ask my broker to set “stops” when I buy ? I think you have advised this step, but my broker tells me that his company can’t set “stops” when I buy. Any advice ? Keep up the great work. Sam.
Hi , what is going on with DXS I notice a name change, I bought around the time you guys did so showing a nice % profit it is still a buy ? Thanks for the reports x2 a day is very helpful .
I’m a (sort of) new subscriber and I like reading your daily comments very much. The whole approach (website, comments, presentation, historical links etc.) seems to be much better than the past approach (I use to be a MM subscriber around 5 years ago). Currently I’m very interested in your Flagship Growth Portfolio. I noticed that the biggest part of it is the BHP. My questions are (of course I’m not asking for the personal advice but rather your professional opinion.) – What level of prices would make the BHP a “good” buy in the current market? Would this price be good to allocated to BHP the same weight of the total portfolio (~9%) as the Flagship Portfolio? Or… are we “too high” and only addition to the existing holding would be reasonable approach?
I’m trying to get a read on the likely opening direction/sentiment of the ASX each day. What indicators should I look at and are they valid each day. For example our Monday when the USA is closed on our Sunday, are there valid indicators out there? I currently use XP1:IND. Is that ‘ live’ each day and over the weekend?
Hi,
Hi there, Just wondering your views on SOR? They are continually delivering good results however still on the decline. Also, wondering your thoughts on PDN do you think they will continue to grow and offer a good long term investment?
