    MM’s thoughts on Carbon Credits?

    Hi MM, Thanks for the great work. I noticed that Peter O’Conner was favourable on carbon credits. Can you please explain how to invest in this market and it’s outlook? Cheers Jill

    Hi Jill,

    Carbon credits is a fairly new concept but there are 2 ways of investing that we watching carefully:

    • The US traded KraneShares Global Carbon Strategy ETF (KRBN US) is a $US1.3bn fund where MM initially sees 15% upside from the current sub $US50 area.
    • VanEck are set to launch a new ASX traded carbon credits ETF (XCO2), watch this space the ETF could be up and running in just a few weeks.

    Like Peter we do believe the medium / long term outlook for carbon credits is very favourable and a new Labor government in Australia looks likely to help.
