Question asked

Does MM have a preference for stocks in its International Portfolio?

Hi Guys I've just set up a platform for international shares. I can see everything in the MM international portfolio is listed as "active" however I note a few stocks have already generated some great gains. If you were investing funds now, what would be your order of preference and what do you think still has some good growth potential. Many thanks Kim

Answer

Hi Kim,

A scary question because pulling 1-2 stocks out of any portfolio can always backfire but I  understand when looking at say Apple Inc (AAPL  US) which is already showing us a +270% profit it may be hard to jump on board. Hence I have outlined a few thoughts general below:

  1. We still like the FAAANG stocks but ideally ~5% lower.
  2. We like YETI Holdings (YETI US) after its report on Thursday night with an initial upside target of 20-25% – we discussed on Thursday morning YETI
  3. Others that stand out if pressed are Pershing Square (PSHZF US) and Blackstone (BX US), the former is a more diversified take on a portfolio of stocks.
