I’d like to get a better understanding of the Coal Futures Newc numbers in your morning reports. For example Tues 11 Mar the report shows $131.4 +$3.35 which compares to Monday 10 Mar $117.4 +$2.40. Thus would you please explain the source of contract number & variation because it doesn’t appear to be day V previous day. Thanks Glenn

We quote the active futures price from Bloomberg, however the active futures contract can change months depending in activity and then that has a bearing on the numbers. Below looks at the different contract prices for different months. You can get this info free from bar charts: https://www.barchart.com/futures/quotes/LQ*0/futures-prices
