The “Flying Kangaroo” is not a classic high-yielding defensive play, although it does reside within the transport sector. The stock caught our attention on Monday, closing up +0.8%, after reaching 6-week highs earlier in the session. The stock reported well in February, including paying its first dividend since before COVID. Assuming we avoid a recession and rates fall into Christmas, QAN should enjoy the rest of 2025. The airline is a massive beneficiary of falling fuel/oil prices, which we will discuss in the next section. Our bullish stance on QAN suggests oil will go lower in the short term.
- We can see QAN making fresh highs into Christmas, over 10% higher.
