The US dollar enjoyed a strong “Trump bump” after the election result became apparent, taking the index back to its average of the last 2-years. Second-guessing what comes next into Christmas is hard, leaving us sitting on the proverbial fence over the coming months.

The $US Index

The $A has been humbled by Trump’s victory and China’s relatively disappointing stimulus package, but it had already been struggling since testing the 69c level last month. Similar to the $US, the Aussie is back to its mid-point of the last few years, leaving it a coin toss into Christmas.
