Answer
Hi Gail – that is a good question, and the answer relates to the data, but in short, the price of the hybrid is not expected to fall by that amount.
The price forecast chart on the company page here, pulls broker consensus price targets. There is no consensus price targets for hybrids because the expectation is they get called at their $100 face value. That chart is pulling the price forecast for Westpac (WBC) itself (shares not the Hybrid), with the consensus price target being $24.93 for WBC, hence the trend in the chart. In short, disregard this chart for Hybrids, the ‘consensus’ for all hybrids will be $100.
