Question asked

Typical ETF portfolio to hold for 2 decades

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. What's your take on the following ETFs as part of a portfolio focused on growth for the next 1 to 2 decades? A200 - 30% VGS - 30% NDIA -10% ASIA - 10% VSO - 10% MVE - 10% I also add extra (a few hundred) into any of the above ETFs when there is a considerable dip when compared to my average buy price. Is there anything I should consider changing (either an ETF or the allocation percentage) as the time frame is 2 decades ?

Answer

Hi SRI,

Just a reminder that we are unable to provide personal advice – any advice is general in nature and does not take into consideration any one members personal circumstances.

As believers in the share market, MM is bullish towards equities on a 10 to 20-year basis. A diversified blend of growth focused ETFs is a solid (passive) strategy. Our own bias is a bit more active and that’s what we tend to write about on a daily basis, and how we manage our portfolios. You’ll continue to get insight into our views around specific areas of the market in our daily notes which we hope will help in forming your own opinions around areas we believe will outperform or struggle over differing time periods, and potentially, when to top up existing positions.

  • The ETFs mentioned are solid and well regarded products.
