Question asked

SPP for NCK

To the MM team, My question relates to the NCK SPP. The SPP shares are valued at $13.25, which is about 10% below today's NCK share price. So my question, I know that with scale backs people probably wont get their full allocation, but even so it seems to make sense to sell NCK today, apply for the SPP and hopefully book a profit. Even if there is a scale back, surely the NCK share price will drop slightly towards the SPP price, giving a buying opportunity. I know that this is more short term trading than investing, but would still appreciate your thoughts.

Answer

Hi Charles,

The stock might pullback when the SPP completes, but it may not. We’ve seen all sorts of things play out in markets over the years, so we have little confidence in saying one way or another. We do believe that scale back will be high, putting some $$ back in investors pockets that could find their way into the stock on market. We ultimately think the deal is a good one, and hindsight suggests that holding NCK over the medium term has been the play, noting we do not hold the stock!
