Queries re US stocks

Hi MM, 1) Further to your Wednesday morning comments on FSLR, do you still consider FSLR to be a high conviction holding or are you now a little more cautiously bullish, so to speak? 2) Out of the US holdings in MM's International Portfolio or on your hitlist, which four to five holdings do you consider to have the best prospects and be the best value at current levels...and do these include YETI? Thanks, Darren

Answer

Hi Darren,

1 – We still consider FSLR to be a high conviction holding but into November’s election investors should expect increased volatility – The Don is not a fan of current ESG policies which may not great news for the likes of FSLR, however, the largest companies in the world need what FSLR is producing, and that in itself keeps us bullish.

2 – A huge question rolled into one line and one that is likely to change over time – but right here/right now from our International Equities Portfolio our favourite positions in no specific order are:

  • Microsoft (MSFT US), Cameco (CCJ US), Freeport McMoran (FCX US), Peabody Energy (BTU US), Zillow (ZG US) (and we still like YETI US from a fundamental perspective, technicals are less convincing r right now)
