Has Aeris Resources (AIS) transitioned from a ‘punt’ to a possible investment?

AIS (Aeris Resources) has been range bound for the past couple of years, but the share price is now braking out. What is your current opinion of the company, in terms of their future as both a gold a copper mining company? Thank you Chris

Answer

Hi Chris,

AIS has bounced well over recent weeks, but we remain conscious that it’s still a $330mn junior copper/gold miner which regularly moves 5-10% in a day. We feel your term “transition” is on the money, especially after it turned a net profit of $45mn, after generating revenue of $577mn in FY25.

With AIS targeting growth through production ramp-up, advancing key development projects like Constellation, expanding resources via exploration, and strategic consolidation in its operating region, the outlook is encouraging:

We see good risk/reward ~30c but reiterate this is a volatile small cap stock.

Weekend Q&A: The ASX200 drifts while US indices post fresh all-time highs

The ASX200 ended last week largely flat, holding September's current pullback to 1.2%. It may have been a quiet week on the index level, but it wasn’t on the sector level, with solid gains by the rate-sensitive tech, real estate, and utilities sectors while the energy sector fell 4.5% as OPEC+ maintained its elevated supply.
