Question asked

Brightstar Resources (BTR)

Hi guys I have noticed that my btr shares have changed over btrda and have received less shares than i had but they have gone up in value Can you please explain what has happened to the shares in this company Thanks Tony

Answer

Hi Tony,

When a stock trades with DA after their code, it means they are trading on a deferred settlement basis due to a restructure. Deferred settlement means that instead of settling on a T+2 basis, this is T +5 for about a week while the change happens. It will revert back to BTR if it hasn’t already done so.

  • Brightstar implemented a 1-for-25 share consolidation, meaning that for every 25 shares previously held, shareholders received 1 new share worth 25x more, all else being equal. i.e. the value of the holding stays to same.
