SYR is an Australia-based company engaged in the production of natural graphite products from Balama Graphite Operation in Mozambique, which has endured a tough 12-months in line with the weakness across the ESG space in general, i.e. graphite is used in EV batteries. These shares remain in the “naughty corner” along with PLS; around 18% of the stock is held short, and the position has been steadily growing over the last 12 months. We can see the stock doubling from here a lot easier than halving, but it’s an aggressive trade.
- We like the risk/reward towards SYR for the brave investor – Syrah is expected to report on April 2nd.
