On the local market yesterday, the top performer yesterday was the old Westfield, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) which rallied +14.5% after major short covering overseas. Today I have looked at 3 stocks locally which carry major short positions and in our opinion are now screening as interesting from both a value and risk / reward perspective before considering any potential short squeeze.
Note as we see a return to normality short-term I can imagine some smart professional traders considering cutting some shorts in case we see a removal of abovementioned trading restrictions leaving them as fair game for retail players – I know I would if I was short in size.
