Global Lithium Resources (GL1) $1.56

The lithium junior is currently doing exploration works at their two assets in WA with strong results coming through from the drilling campaigns. The $400m market cap company has shown signs the sites could turn out to be tier 1 assets in a great jurisdiction for resources companies in general.

GL1 +6.85%: while there was some recovery across lithium stocks today, Global Lithium saw a stronger-than-sector move higher thanks to a resource upgrade at their Manna deposit near Kalgoorlie in WA.

Global Lithium (GL1) $1.60

GL1 is at the more speculative end of the market, is not in production and is therefore not producing earnings, although their current exploration program at their Western Australia assets is an exciting one. This is a higher-risk play on the Lithium sector and one that will come with significant volatility.

Global Lithium Resources (GL1) $1.58

GL1 is a $400m lithium exploration company that is not in production and is therefore not producing earnings, however, they are undertaking a large-scale exploration program at their Western Australia assets with good prospects in a solid area around Kalgoorlie. Recent drilling updates have been encouraging and they are progressing through various stages of permitting and feasibility in their two operations.

Lithium/ESG Exposure

Flagship Growth Portfolio: IGO Ltd (IGO) & Mineral Resources (MIN) ~7% portfolio weighting although MIN has a major % of its earnings from iron ore. Emerging Companies Portfolio: Global Lithium (GL1) ~4% portfolio weighting. International Portfolio: No holdings however we are doing some work on an interesting Solar company to be discussed next week.

Global Lithium (GL1) $1.615

While Global Lithium was one of the better performers in the portfolio in the past week, Lithium stocks in general have been under pressure since the start of February. The reason for the slide in the space comes on the back of demand weakness which has weighed on the spot price which is down ~30% this year. Battery manufacturers and other downstream users have been destocking inventory on perceived weakness in demand from China, though this is likely to be temporary with stimulus measures targeted at growing the proportion of EV’s being sold

The move came after rumours a Chinese battery manufacturer was set to significantly cut output expectations resulting in softening demand for the battery mineral by as early as the middle of next year. Emerging Companies Portfolio

The portfolio was up +1.80% in the week, strongly outperforming the S&P/ASX Small Ords index which fell. Cash in the portfolio is sitting at around 9%. Strength in Paladin (PDN) +20% and Lovisa Holdings (LOV) +18% drove the performance, more than offsetting weakness in Aussie Broadband (ABB) -15% and EML payments (EML) -9%. The portfolio was also supported by dividends from Bapcor (BAP) and Pinnacle Investment (PNI).

Business Summary

Global Lithium Resources Limited is an Australia-based lithium exploration company. The Company is focused on two prospective Western Australian projects the 100% owned Marble Bar Lithium Project (MBLP) in the Pilbara region and the Manna Lithium Project (80% owned) in the Goldfields region. The Marble Bar Lithium Project is located approximately 150 kilometers (km) Southeast of Port Hedland and approximately 15 km Northwest of Marble Bar in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Manna Lithium Project is an outcropping pegmatite exploration project located approximately 100 km east of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. The Company is focused on exploring the Archer deposit, which comprises a swarm of spodumene bearing pegmatites over approximately three kilometers by one kilometer zone. It has an influence of 750 meters (m) and 130 meters in the main outcrop with individual pegmatite dykes up to 18 m wide.
