Domino’s Pizza Ent. Ltd (DMP) $17.58

Its hard to imagine that DMP was a market darling a few years ago, trading well above $165 back in 2021. Its been a tale of woes for DMP with overseas expansion one of its big disappointments over recent years. The stock tumbled again last month following its 1H result which showed sales falling at the start of the year. Same-store sales slid 7.2% in the first 8-weeks of the second half hindered by weather conditions in Europe and an early start to Chinas Lunar New Year holiday. The fall cast doubt over the chain’s “refresh” of simpler menus, fewer discounts and cost reductions.

DMP +21.3% rallied on a trading update today, new CEO Mark van Dyck 3 months into the role kicking his stint off with a bang. The CEO announced sweeping changes, the closure of 205 unprofitable stores, 172 of which are based in Japan.

DMP was the market's worst performer on Tuesday, initially falling over 9% before recovering some of its losses to finish down 6.3% after the fast food chain provided a trading update + announced that chief executive Don Meij would retire after 22 years in the role and almost 40 years with the company after starting in Brisbane as a delivery boy!

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd (DMP) $38.04

DMP is down 35% in CY24 with the stock failing to be energised by this week's investor day. The company's global footprint is expanding, but it's not all plain sailing. France is possibly turning the corner, German store growth is delayed, margins are low in Japan, and sales are weak in Malaysia. Overall, we are finding it easy to stay on the sidelines with regard to this well-known pizza business.

Domino’s Pizza (DMP) $43.55

DMP -5.86%: the pizza franchisor fell to a 3-year low today after announcing it was looking to close several underperforming stores combined with a poor trading update.
