Question asked

Xero Ltd (ASX: Xero)

Hi guys, just a quick one. Can I have your updated thoughts on Xero please and short term crystal ball predictions. I had been expecting a bounce, but with only bad news around it's looking like I may have caught the falling knife. Thanks

Answer

Hi Simon,

Xero has been tough one for MM and many subscribers/Australian investors. The weakness over the last 12-months has been almost entirely down to valuation compression as the “AI Disruption Trade” unwound a number of software stocks – as the chart below illustrates its danced almost in tandem with its main rival Intuit (Quickbooks) during this  period of weakness.

The stock looked on track for a decent bounce back towards $90 earlier in the month before inflation inspired concerns, courtesy of the escalation in the US-Iran conflict, caused another leg lower in growth stocks.

  • Our crystal ball says XRO will trade between $60 and $90 in the second half of 2026 BUT we are closer to sellers than buyers as the stock plumbs 6-year lows.
