The future of Chinese e-commerce platforms into 2025 is likely to be more correlated to stimulus out of Beijing and the future of strength of the Chinese domestic economy as opposed to policies by Trump. As we’ve written over the last few weeks many pundits actually anticipate more stimulus following Trumps landslide victory.
Obviously a trade war isn’t good for anyone but its likely to hurt Chinese exporters far more than domestic retailers, assuming of course an even deeper recession follows potential tariffs. We are inclined to agree with the share price which hasn’t paid much attention to the election result.
