Most investors have heard of AI chip giant Nvidia as the stocks soared higher, but the understandable question we often hear is “Has the horse already bolted?”. The answer is ‘partially’. While they have the 1st player advantage we think the easy money is behind the stock as competition hots up. Rival chipmakers are developing and ramping production of AI-graphics processing units (GPUs) designed to complete with Nvidia’s ultra-popular H100 GPU and next-generation Blackwell GPU architecture. Although Nvidia’s hardware shouldn’t have any trouble maintaining an advantage in AI-accelerated data centres, the competition is only going to increase over time.
- This is a rapidly evolving industry and investors need to remain flexible and open-minded – who would have thought US tech giants would have turned to nuclear power to satisfy their AI energy demands!
We are bullish towards NVDA as it punches out to new all-time highs, but wouldn’t want to see signs of failure and a break back under $129, it all about risk/reward in these hot stocks.
