    NHC Convertible Note ASX Notice

    Hi MM, The market appears not to have taken too kindly to NHC's convertible note issue. Are concerns justified or is this a temporary blip? Regards, Peter

    Hi Peter,

    Coal miner NHC is up well over 2% this week, which is better than the index, but it pales into insignificance compared to Whitehaven (WHC) which has soared around 17%. The difference is more about what coal they produce with WHC now focusing on coking/met coal whereas NHC is primarily a thermal coal producer.

    • we discussed coal stocks on Tuesday after coal producer Anglo American suspended operations at its Grosvenor plant in Queensland due to a fire, i.e. a reduction in coking/met coal supply.
