Hi Patrick,
Silver is a tough commodity to get specific exposure to. The biggest silver miners on the ASX have their earnings diluted by production of other commodities – gold, copper etc.
We like Boab Metals (BML), a small cap silver/lead play in the Western Australia that is working to get their Sorby Hills asset up and running. There is some time before first production and the company has some work to do to sure up funding, however, the financials of the asset are attractive with a market cap of around $50m.
As for an ETF, we like the VanEck Gold Miners ETF (GDX) while the largest direct silver alternative is the $US11.48bn iShares Silver Trust (SLVP US) which invests in silver as opposed to silver focused companies.
