The emergence of the Chinese start-up has possibly made a competitive AI model for a fraction of the billions Silicon Valley is spending, leading investors to adopt an “if in doubt, get out approach”

NFLX was the only major tech name managing to eke out strong gains overnight, adding to the previous sessions’ drive higher after the streaming business reported its fourth-quarter earnings on Tuesday.
NWL +1.67%: Ended higher though it was a volatile session with traders taking advantage of early strength following a good quarterly.
PPS +11.84%: A good session for the minor in the platform space today delivering a positive quarter for net inflows with: 1) SMA net inflows above our expectations, 2) Spectrum producing maiden quarterly net inflows of ~$70 million, and 3) Powerwrap returning to positive net inflows following five consecutive quarters of net outflows.
Oracle (ORCL US) surged overnight after Trumps Stargate announcement but the $US520bn tech giant was already enjoying a strong few years, with this week’s news just giving the stock another leg-up. ORCL shares jumped ~7% on news that the software maker is involved in a joint venture with OpenAI and SoftBank to build AI intelligence infrastructure in the U.S.
We touched on HUB earlier in the week after they delivered a strong second-quarter result, with total Funds Under Administration (FUA) reaching a record $120.9 billion.
