Thoughts on CRW & CXL

Hi James and team, Loving the new website and content - super easy to use. I have only been a member for a few months now and am valuing your insights on the market - thank you! Would love to know your view on CRW and CXL. Thank you,  Liz B

Answer

Hi Liz,

Glad to hear your are enjoying the new layout as well as the content.

CashRewards (CRW) is a system that offers cash rewards and deals for member shoppers for using particular partner brands. They only listed in December for $1.73/share, currently trading well below that price. The model doesn’t scream value to me – they certainly provide merchants with leads and potential sales but their customers tend to be low value, deal hungry shoppers. Any technical view is hazy given its short listed life. Too hard for me unfortunately.

Calix (CXL) develops technology that limits the escape of various emissions from a number for different manufacturing processes. It is an interesting company, Shaw were a part of the IPO back in 2018 , that has recently been caught up in the battery tech hype.

For now, it has run hard and looks set for a period of consolidation. A breakout would come on further validation of the tech.
