We covered Cochlear’s savage downgrade in detail earlier in the week Here, with the main points below:
- COH delivered one of the worst downgrades we can remember JUST two months after reconfirming guidance (albeit, at the lower end).
- The company has been struggling for 2-years, this downgrade was another poor trading update.
- The new profit guidance for FY26 of $290-330m is still a very wide range, and we’re only 2 months from when they rule off their books for the FY, implying they still don’t have a good handle on where they will end up.
There’s an old saying in the market – “Buy the 3rd Downgrade” and after two sharp drops in 2026 we may consider the stock if/when it experiences another bad-day at the office, but we have no interest for now.
