Question asked

Does MM prefer BEN or BOQ moving forward?

Hi James, I submitted a question in plenty of time to be included in Saturday's Q&A 26/3/22 - (probably Mon/Tue last week). It has been missed. Since my question on Boss Energy SPP is of a timing nature is it possible to get your view sooner than next Sat? ie SPP can be closed earlier than the close date. BOE - What's your view on Boss Energy's SPP which opened on Fri 25/3 at $2.15? BEN/BOQ - I have held BEN instead of BOQ as your preferred regional bank. Since BEN have paid a dividend in March would you swap BEN for BOQ for the dividend payable in May? Would the upside in price be higher for BOQ going forward due to the dividend? or would you hold BEN. Regards,

Answer

Hi Debbie,

Sorry to miss your question last week we had an earlier than usual cut off as I had a rare weekend away with the family. We do endeavour to answer all questions with priority but obviously both markets and our lives are fluid at times.

As for the regional banks we continue to hold and by definition prefer Bank of Queensland (BOQ) hence if we actually held BEN which has just traded ex-dividend we would consider switching into BOQ before this months dividend but overall we are not advocating chasing the local banks after their recent strong run.

RE BOE SPP: As a very simply general rule, we participate in an SPP if we like the company and their is a 5% margin in it.
