How should new subscribers attack the MM Portfolios

Hi James I have decided to come on board and am looking forward to interacting with MM, thanks for the special offer. The decision facing me and probably other new comers to MM is that we are coming in with cash to invest or an existing portfolio or both. What strategy do you suggest to invest in MM portfolio's considering that MM is recommending waiting for value opportunities at the next downturn. Also how do we tailor our existing portfolio to align with MM recommendations. Regards Ross

Answer

Hi Ross – thanks for coming on board, I’m sure you’ll get value out of it over time. You’re question is a good one and as you say, i’m sure you are not alone in thinking this.

At MM we give general as opposed to personal advice so each subscriber can look at what we’re doing within our published portfolios and make some decisions around what and how they implement them. My suggestion would be to concentrate on one of two portfolios that best suit you and look at what positions within the portfolio are marked active. When they are marked active, it means that if we didn’t already own them, we’d still be happy to buy them around current levels .

It’s also important to note that we’re managing portfolio’s, not just giving buy hold or sell recommendations. This means we might sell a stock even though we still like it, it just might be that we like something more and we need to make room in the portfolio for it. Hope that helps.
