While we don’t believe the Yen Carry Trade unwind is the main driver of the ASX at present, it is a contributing factor, and it’s telling us to be ready to increase risk in the coming weeks. The banks and tech stocks are an option for those prepared to adopt a contrarian stance, noting we’ve recently bought Westpac (WBC) for yield, but are being more patient from a growth perspective.
