US markets rallied strongly overnight with technology shares again in vogue ahead of expected strong earnings numbers from Amazon and Alphabet, both of whom are due to report after market. The S&P500 rallied to within 1% of its all-time high. Gains were broad based with tech also enjoying strong gains but the financials were the standout performers with gains nudging 3% which bodes very well for the ASX this morning.
