Afterpay (APT) ponders US listing

APT -0.14%: The alternative payments company announced it is looking to a US listing, piggybacking off the surging growth seen in international markets. They saw US transaction volume more than double year on year for the quarter, compared to the A&NZ market that was up ~50%. Despite coming off a seasonally strong festive period, transactions were higher through Q3 vs Q2 in the US market, highlighting the traction Buy Now Pay Later is getting in the world’s largest retail market.

The company said it is exploring its options in terms of a US listing, which comes just months after it’s zero coupon convertible note commenced trading on the Singapore exchange. Ultimately a US listing could create value for shareholders by providing access to trillions of dollars’ worth of potential investors.
