Afternoon Report Wednesday 5 November 2014
It was a roller coaster ride in the ASX200 today, ending the day down only 2 points at 5,518 after falling 39 points intraday.
Commonwealth Bank (CBA) contributed largely to the recovery, which closed 1% higher at $81.56 after reporting a positive quarterly report.
Woolworths (WOW) also added some positive points, up 2.5% at $34.13, as short covering was likely seen today. We remain negative WOW - see this morning’s report.
Transfield Services (TSE) closed 2.2% higher at $1.90 after raising its full year earnings guidance.
