Afternoon Report Wednesday 25 June 2014
The ASX 200 followed the weak lead from US markets, closing down 31 points to 5,402 after trading as low as -54 early in the session.
Today, as mentioned live via email and sms to our platinum members, I purchased Flight Centre (FLT) as it reached my buy target area, closing up 19c to $44.69 after trading as low as -$1.66 to $42.84 earlier in the session.
The banking sector was weak following recent press articles with CBA closing down 0.7% to $81.02 and Westpac (WBC) -0.9% to $33.83.
Treasury Wines (TWE) closed up 6.5% to $5.07 over the past two days, still technically positive. Refer to yesterday's morning report.
Aurizon (AZJ) closed down 0.8% to $4.96 after announcing this afternoon that it has halted projects, cut jobs and increased its write downs for the 2H by up to $160m.
