Afternoon Report Friday 24 October 2014
The ASX 200 advanced, closing 29 points higher at 5412 again, led by the banking sector with Commonwealth Bank (CBA) closing 60c higher at $78.77.
Just after 1130am, the SPI Futures sold off aggressively after newswires hit the desk with confirmation that a doctor in New York tested positive for Ebola. This sell off was obviously short lived.
AMP closed 17c higher at $5.56 after releasing its third quarter profit update.
