A couple of questions for Saturdays report. Firstly SKI. At say $2.60 is it worth buying with a higher takeover offer in mind. Also VCX which I see you like around $1.50. Your portfolios have previously exited property stocks on the back of rising interest rates. Isn't that the same for VCX? Thanks Ian

We have basically answered your first question in recent reports i.e. MM believes SKI is good value ~$2.60 believing there is a very strong possibility of an increased bid above $2.80. As for VCX and our calls around interest rates. We exited Charter Hall Long WALE REIT (CLW) on concerns around interest rates because they have tenants with very long leases which can be thought of as a sort of longer dated bond, when interest rates rise, the price of the bond declines all things being equal. VCX is slightly different, it’s exposed to shopping centres with generally shorter duration leases which is a tough area at the moment however the stock is very cheap as a consequence hence our positive take around $1.50. We currently hold Dexus (DXS) & National Storage (NSR) in our income portfolio with our favorite pick at current levels being NSR. We do now own VCX.
