DMP +21.3% rallied on a trading update today, new CEO Mark van Dyck 3 months into the role kicking his stint off with a bang. The CEO announced sweeping changes, the closure of 205 unprofitable stores, 172 of which are based in Japan.

Domino’s Pizza (DMP) $31.60

DMP was the market's worst performer on Tuesday, initially falling over 9% before recovering some of its losses to finish down 6.3% after the fast food chain provided a trading update + announced that chief executive Don Meij would retire after 22 years in the role and almost 40 years with the company after starting in Brisbane as a delivery boy!

Domino’s Pizza Ent. Ltd (DMP) $36.48

European investor days earlier this month did little to increase fund managers' appetite for DMP, which is now down 38% in 2024. The net result was further downgrades, with Europe improving but downgrades due to Asia & FX making it all feel too hard.

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd (DMP) $38.04

DMP is down 35% in CY24 with the stock failing to be energised by this week's investor day. The company's global footprint is expanding, but it's not all plain sailing. France is possibly turning the corner, German store growth is delayed, margins are low in Japan, and sales are weak in Malaysia. Overall, we are finding it easy to stay on the sidelines with regard to this well-known pizza business.

DMP -5.86%: the pizza franchisor fell to a 3-year low today after announcing it was looking to close several underperforming stores combined with a poor trading update. They’ll start by wrapping up the 27 stores in Denmark, a small group they bought out of receivership in 2019 which has failed to improve materially since acquisition.

Domino’s Pizza (DMP) $54.37

DMP -23.81%: Whacked today and rightly so after a result that was a big miss to consensus while market positioning had clearly become more positive on the stock with the share price up ~50% from its recent lows. Fund manager’s drank the DMP cool-aid with gusto as Mr Meji said that while things were tough, they were turning around – which now seems a stretch, in the short term at least.
