Question asked

Tribeca Asia Credit Trust

Hi Team, What is your verdict on CTD? Is it a basket case & not investible? Do you have any info when ASIA CREDIT TRUST is going to be listed? What is your opinion on its investment potential? Thx

Answer

Hi Sidney,

We’ve covered CTD in another question today.

In terms of the Tribeca Asia Credit Trust, we haven’t looked at this closely, or met with the team (which is what we would usually do before writing about these sorts of investments). Listing is scheduled for 21st October subject to the raise getting done.

We are planning to look at this in more detail prior to the listing date, but in the interim, here is a quick overview plus  a report by Lonsec on the underlying fund.

  • The target issue size is approximately $200 million
  • The portfolio is liquid – could be liquidated in 1-2 days.
  • Targets 10-12% annualized return and ~8% p.a. in distributions paid monthly, 100% currency hedged for AUD investors.
  • The Underlying Australian Unit Trust, which the LIT will feed into, has annualised net returns of ~11% since its inception in 2022
  • No exposure to Australian Real Estate, and never has been any exposure
  • A diversified portfolio with minimum 40%-60% investment grade and at least 80% of the portfolio rated by Moodys/Fitch/S&P
