Question asked

ABX Ltd (ABX), Nexus Minerals (NXM) and Aruma Resources (AAJ)

I would like your opinion on the following shares - ABX, NXM and AAJ. Thanks Ray

Answer

Hi Ray,

You’re taking us “off-piste” a touch here with 3 micro-cap miners;

ABX Ltd (ABX) – A $25mn rare earths company focused primarily on bauxite exploration and development.

  • ABX is pre-revenue from core operations, focused on proving its resources and advancing processing technology to commercial scale.
  • The shares more than doubled in 1-day in early September following a positive report on leach tests in rare earth materials from its Tasmanian project.
  • The company may need to raise capital in the not-too-distant future, but it looks a good “punt” while it holds above 6.5c.

Nexus Minerals (NXM) – A $45mn a gold and critical minerals exploration company. Its main project is the Wallbrook Gold Project in Western Australia, with additional copper-gold and lithium/tin/tantalum exploration projects in Victoria and New South Wales.

  • In FY25 NXM reported a net loss of $5.2 million, up 65% compared to the previous year.
  • However, the company maintains a strong financial position, with a cash balance of $11.35 million and no debt.
  • The stocks traded between 5 and 10c for over 2-years, we see no reason to pre-empt a move.

Aruma Resources (AAJ) – A $9.8mn mineral exploration company focused on discovering gold, copper, lithium, uranium, and rare earth deposits across projects in Western Australia, Queensland, and South Australia.

  • Hundreds of houses in Sydney are worth more than AAJ illustrating its speculative nature.
  • It’s more than doubled in the last 3-weeks from 1c but it’s almost impossible to make an informed decision here.
  • Traders could buy AAJ ~2.3c with stops under 2c BUT it only traded $160k worth of shares on Thursday making it vulnerable to big moves on low $$ volume.
