MTM has jumped almost 8-fold from its April low, a huge move by any metric. Firstly the whole rare earths sectors has rallied strongly over the las 3-4 months for a couple of important reasons as the sector becomes a geo-political hot potato:
- China has tightened exports raising fears of global supply shortages.
- Rare Earth prices have jumped, especially for NdPr, dysprosium, and terbium oxides.
- The US Govt has also supported prices by prioritising rare earths for defense and clean energy industries.
In June 2025, MTM completed an institutional placement at 55c per share, raising a total of $50 million. The placement was oversubscribed by Tier 1 funds who are likely to support the stock into dips through 2025. They raised capital to fund the development of its rare earth projects in the U.S. and Australia, expand exploration, and accelerate downstream processing plans tied to rising demand and U.S. government support for non-Chinese supply.
- We like MTM but it has run extremely hard, our ideal entry would be ~65c, still well above the raise level.
