Cygnus Metals (CY5)

Dear MM, Many thanks for all the great advice. As a follow-up to your bullish view on copper. I was wondering whether you had a view on Cygnus Metals, CY5. I believe Shaw and Partners have it as Strong Buy. It is a micro cap and an explorer (rather than producer) so very speculative. But I wondered whether a small investment would or could complement a larger investment in a mid cap or large cap producer, such as EVN, which you recommend partly due to its copper production. Hi Mark,

Its important to recognise that MM is independent to Shaw, although we do have access to their research + research from many other analysts.

This $95mn miners value is primarily in its lithium assets in Canada, as opposed to its Chibougamau (Copper-Gold) and exploration stage rare earths/lithium project in WA. As such we see no reason to start buying CY5, its not moved for almost two years, we would rather buy at higher prices if interest returns to the business.

The ASX200 slipped 0.3% last week after dancing around the psychological 8600 level almost daily.
