What’s MM’s favourite 5 stocks for short term bull run?

Hi Guys Thanks again for putting together a great service. You’ve mentioned your expecting a short term bull run leading into Christmas. I was wondering what would be your top 5 picks for shares which may achieve 20-30% during this run? I note each morning you give us your thoughts on several picks and some which you are bullish on and have noted you expect ~20% upside etc. I’m wondering if any of those returns are expected to be generated in the short term bull run leading into Christmas? If so, what would be your top 5 most likely to generate the best growth over the next couple of months? Thanks Kim D

Hi Kim,

This is a scary question to answer because with potentially high returns comes high risk, on Tuesday I would have included Megaport (MP1) in this list and it’s produced a very sobering experience over the last 48 hours I’m glad we cut this position relatively fast.

The underlying theme is were looking for a recovery in the tech sector but this has proved elusive 3-weeks into October:

This list is likely to change over the ensuing weeks but at this stage, I would go with some of our most recent purchases plus older existing holdings and one we are currently “stalking”: Seek (SEK), REA Group (REA), HUB24 (HUB), Altium (ALU) and James Hardie (JHX).

Weekend Q&A: Tariffs are back, but equities are still flaunting new highs

The ASX200 slipped 0.3% last week after dancing around the psychological 8600 level almost daily. While the index traded in a tight range, it was a very different story on the stock and sector level, with utilities surging +3.4% while real estate fell -3.2%, two theoretically rate-sensitive sectors moving in opposite directions. However, most of the action unfolded in the resources with a strong advance by iron ore in the back end of the week, helping heavyweight BHP Group (BHP) bounce over $2 to test its March high.
