This ETF is subject to regulatory approval however when launched it’s going to invest in the companies that underpin the Crypto industry rather than crypto itself. We’ll need to wait till more information is out on it, however one of their key holdings will no-doubt be Coinbase Global (COIN US) which is one of the leading platforms to trade crypto. This is actually a relatively cheap stock for the growth it’s delivering and in MM’s view a good way to play the increasing volumes of crypto trading. While regulation is a concern short term, the bigger players, the incumbents in the space will be better positioned to deal with it and ultimately that then provides greater barriers to entry for others looking to launch.
