Market Data

What Mattered Today

A choppy session hit the ASX today however the index fell just -13pts. Not a bad result really given the weakness in overseas markets. The energy sector provided most support with the likes of Santos (STO) up +5.42% to $4.26 and Origin (ORG) up +5.51% to $5.36.

AMP was soft today – down -5.33% following a weak 1Q16 update which saw a weak inflows number and negative claims experience in wealth. Not good trends but company given excuses for why it was. Hard to put a positive spin on inflows which are down 39% pcp, and increase of $18m in wealth protection losses. Stock on 15.3 times which is about average yet performance seems to be struggling. No interest at current levels.

Aristocrat (ALL) has a cracking day – adding +10.49% to $11.59 after saying it’s full-year net profit could come in at $366 million, about 20% ahead of current consensus forecasts….The stock gapped up open but did very little thereafter….
